Once upon a time, when Jennifer was still 19, she pictured herself saying her vows in a plantation with her knight in shining armor. Gladly, Anthony showed up and, poof! The dream fairy tale has come true. The wedding felt so warm and cozy with all the white and soft lavender to purple scheme accents. Not much on the DIY’s for this couple since they had a destination wedding but, goodness! It seemed like everything was made perfect just for them and for their wedding. We are so glad both found each other and completed their fairy tale! This day was such an extraordinary day and they both lived happily every after.
The Theme
I just wanted it to feel warm and intimate with a touch of glam.
Wedding Outfit Inspiration
I knew I wanted a plantation wedding. The grounds we were married is a plantation in Murrells Inlet, SC. I picked the spot when I was 19. My dream came true. Also, I didn’t want my bridesmaids matching. Just in the same color, different shades and whatever style they wanted. I’m so glad I did! I love the way it shows in the pictures.
Our Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Projects
Not too many. We live in Florida and got married in SC. It was hard to do many. However, as a hairstylist I was able to spend time with my sisters and mother and did their hair the day of the wedding. Loved those moments. I also had my great grandmothers handkerchief which my mother hand embroidered for me with our initials and date.
Favorite Part of the Day
I loved being at Stox & Co in the morning with my girls. It’s always fun getting your hair done with your gals but one of my best friends is the owner and the whole experience was made so special by her. It was so special. Also, when we finally had our kiss, I whispered to my husband, “is my lipstick messed up?” He replied, “who cares?!” And kissed me again.
Highlights from the Ceremony and the Reception
We had classic wedding vows but also wrote our own vows to be added into the ceremony. I loved how emotional my husband got.
A Memorable Moment
I think it’s definitely seeing each other. We kept it traditional and waited until I walked down the aisle. I’m so glad! I love the expressions.
