If you want to give out a wonderful gift for your bridal shower, why not make your own turmeric soaps? Place these in beautiful favor bags or boxes, and you’ll have a gift your friends will adore. Plus, turmeric soap is very simple to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredients
- Glycerin Blocks – 1 Pound per 3-5 Guests
- Turmeric Powder – 1-2 tablespoons (adjust to preference)
- Essential Oil in Your Favorite Scent (like lavender or tea tree)
- Soap Molds of Your Choice
- Plastic Cellophane Wrap
Instructions
You’ll need a double boiler for this, but if you don’t have one, you can create an improvised version. Simply place a glass or metal bowl in a pot of boiling water (it’s best if the bowl fits just inside the pot). Your glycerin blocks will go inside the bowl.
- Chop the glycerin blocks and place them in the bowl, stirring occasionally as they melt. Eventually, they will become all liquid.
- Once melted, carefully (use pot holders) pour the glycerin into the soap molds.
- Allow the glycerin to cool for a few minutes before adding your turmeric powder, as adding it when too hot may alter its properties. Stir well to combine.
- Wait until the mixture has cooled but isn’t yet firm, then add 5-10 drops of your chosen essential oil to each mold.
- Allow the soap to cool completely before popping it out and wrapping it in cellophane.
Customization
You can make your soap more fun by adding other ingredients to the glycerin mixture. Consider adding oatmeal for exfoliation, or mix in dried flowers for added texture and beauty. It’s a lot of fun, and your friends are sure to love these unique and aromatic gifts!
