Spring and summer have been the most popular times for weddings for centuries, mainly because the weather was nice and there was plenty of access to beautiful flowers and fruits for wedding treats. However, these days it’s much easier to get supplies in any month so the statistics have changed. Let’s take a look at the most popular time for a wedding as well as the least popular time.
January
January is the least popular time to get married, at 4.7%. It’s a cold month, and most people are still strung out from all that turkey and dressing! However, brides who want to save money can get married this month, as most vendors consider it an “off” time.
February
Surprisingly, February is the third least popular month. With Valentine’s Day being February 14th, most people would think that it would be a popular month, but it comes it at 7.0%.
March
March is the second least popular month, coming it at 6.1%.
April
April is about average as far as popularity goes, coming in at 7.4%. It’s the beginning of spring so more brides are getting married around this time of year.

This is when the weather is most beautiful in most areas of the US, and brides want to take advantage of that beauty. However, it can also be the most expensive month, since brides are competing with many others for their vendors’ business.
July
July comes in at 9.7%, so still a very popular month for a wedding.
August
The second most popular month for marriage, August comes in at 10.2% on the popularity scale. It’s still very beautiful in August, the weather is warm and everyone loves a summer wedding.
