Most people are familiar with the most important wedding etiquette tips, but there are some little known tips as well. Avoid doing these 4 things, or you could risk offending those etiquette sticklers on your wedding guest list.
Don’t Write on the Invitations
Whatever you do, you should never hand-write anything on your wedding invitation. Everything should be printed, and if you need to include a note, you’ll want to print a small note and place it in the envelope with the invitation.
Don’t Call Out a Guest
No matter how much a bride plans, there are some guests who will insist on going against the grain. For instance, guests may show up with their children although the invitation said “adults-only” reception and ceremony. You should never say anything to them and definitely don’t ask them to leave. The best thing to do is continue as if everything is fine, even though you’re probably pretty mad about the situation.
Don’t Go with a Cash Bar
Cash bars are becoming more and more popular, but if you want to observe perfect etiquette, don’t use them. Traditionally, guests aren’t supposed to pay for anything other than the gift they bring. Chances are if you have a cash bar, someone’s going to assume it’s because you’re cheap. Avoid the bar altogether or serve something else if you’re on a tight budget.
Save the Date Cards?
No, they’re not just an additional item that you’ll need to pay for at the printer. They’re actually useful and etiquette rules suggest that you send them out up to a year in advance so your guests know when your wedding is and can plan around it.
So there you have it! Remember to follow these 4 little-known etiquette rules as you plan your own special day.
