Packing for the honeymoon can be so much fun! Most brides are already in heaven by that time from picturing a wonderful time alone with their brand new groom. When packing, it’s important to make sure you don’t forget the following 5 items, which are often at the bottom of a bride’s list.
Prescriptions/Medications
If you are on prescription medications, make sure you pack them so you have them during your honeymoon. You will want to bring the whole bottle, not just a few to last you, just incase you end up needing to get a refill or your stay is extended. Also, bring any prescriptions that you may need to get filled during the honeymoon. Alert your doctor that you’re leaving and let him or her know how long you’ll be gone, so they can be prepared to help with any prescription emergencies.
Over the Counter Medications
It’s best to pack over-the-counter medications rather than purchasing them at your destination. You may find that they’re unavailable where you’re going. Medications that might be of use to you include pain relievers, motion sickness medication, sunburn relief medication, fever reducers, antibiotic ointment and bandaids for small cuts or scrapes, etc. Create a small first-aid kit to help with any small medical needs.
Accessories
Accessories are just as important as the clothing a bride packs, and it can actually help her stretch her wardrobe out and pack fewer clothes. Pack decorative scarves to change the look of an outfit, statement necklaces, a belt or two, sunglasses, headbands, and any other accessories you feel would be
Large Ziploc Bags
These can be incredibly helpful, especially when you’re on your way back home. Place wet swimsuits in a Ziploc bag after you’ve taken that last dip in the pool or ocean. Put tooth brushes and toothpaste in these bags to keep them sanitary. Shoes that have gotten dirty can be placed in a Ziploc bag to protect clothing inside luggage. Accessories can be stored in them as well.
A Sewing Kit
Imagine you’re on your way out the door for dinner when your skirt gets caught on something and rips! Now you have a small tear and can’t wear it, but it’s the only cocktail dress you packed. A sewing kit can be immensely helpful during your honeymoon and can be used to reattach buttons, fix small tears, and make repairs quickly.
Making sure these items are packed can help you have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself without worrying!
