Whether you’re having a fall or winter wedding, here’s a great new centerpiece idea. It’s really easy to create and you might already have the items you need lying around the house or stuck in boxes in the attic.
What You’ll Need:
Large glass containers – mismatched shapes and sizes will work well
Christmas ornaments in your wedding colors
Floating Candles (optional)
What to Do:
First, remove the tops from the ornaments if possible. You can fill them up with water and replace the tops so they don’t float when you add water to the glass container. Place the ornaments in any style or fashion you want into the glass container. If you’re having a fall wedding, ornaments in shades of maroon, gold, silver and brown work very well.
After you’ve filled the glass container about halfway with ornaments, fill the container with water, covering the ornaments. You can then light a floating candle and place it on top of the water in the container.
Alternatives
If you don’t want to use floating candles, just fill the glass containers up with the ornaments without worrying about filling either with water. You can also add small strands of Christmas lights that are battery powered. Place them inside the glass container as you add the ornaments so they’re distributed fairly evenly. This creates a beautiful shine, especially if the ornaments contain glitter.
