The hubby and I didn’t live together before we tied the knot and soon after we got engaged, we decided to head west after the wedding (two weeks after, to be exact). We not only had to find a new area to live in, but decide whether or not we wanted to become first-time home buyers in a place far more expensive than home or spend a lot on rent. We ended up renting for two reasons – the cost of buying something in the specific area we like was way out of our budget and we’re still not sure how long we’ll be here!
No matter your pre-wedding living arrangements, chances are something will be a little different after the big day. If you happen to be starting out in a new place altogether but can’t decide renting or buying is a better option for you and your beloved, check out the helpful infographic below (information is so much better when it comes in picture for, isn’t it?!)! 🙂
Amidst the excitement of starting a new chapter together, it’s essential to consider securing life insurance, especially when you’re newlyweds or about to tie the knot. Life insurance provides financial protection and peace of mind for your partner in case the unexpected happens.
Additionally, as you navigate through decisions like renting versus buying a home, it’s also crucial to explore options for home insurance to safeguard your new space. If you’re looking for quick coverage without the hassle of a medical exam, you may want to consider ‘life insurance without a medical exam’ for added convenience and ease.
When starting a new chapter in a different place, creating a detailed budget plan is crucial for managing finances effectively. This plan will assist in making informed decisions about expenses, savings, and investments, ensuring financial stability.
Furthermore, exploring local amenities, community services, and potential future developments in the area can offer valuable insights for your decision-making process. Understanding the resources available in your new neighborhood can help you settle in more comfortably and make the most of your new surroundings.
As you embark on this journey together in a new place, ensuring both your home and your future with the right insurances can bring a sense of security and stability.

Good info! And I am proud that you chose not to live together before marriage. It says a lot about the people you are. 🙂

Great info-graphic! It’s always difficult to decide to buy or rent especially after your married, its trying to determine where you are going to settle? And like you said how do you know you will want to stay in that area forever?
