Rustic weddings are oftentimes underrated due to their traditional and obvious simplicity. But this set of photos from Three16 Photography proves that simplicity is definitely the ultimate sophistication! Everything at Jared and Shelby’s wedding was inspired by country themed elements with pops of blue that are seen throughout the wedding. So ladies and gents, don’t be afraid to go the rustic and traditional route because if there’s anything we can learn from today’s feature, it is that there is a magical charm in rustic weddings that makes it extra special! Scroll down below to see what I’m talking about! Enjoy!
We’re All About the Details!
Jared grew up in rural Iowa in a town known for its rodeo, livestock, and farmland. Shelby, on the other hand, grew up in Huntington Beach, California. Growing up with such different backgrounds, the couple wanted to incorporate both aspects into their wedding day. The venue they chose, The Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach, was the perfect combination of bright beachy vibes and rustic charm.
The Bouquet
Shelby’s sunflower and the white rose bouquet was crafted by Melia’s Flowers. She brought a little something blue into her look as well with robin’s egg satin heels.
The A-line Gown
Her flowing A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline from Mariposa Boutique had Jared bursting with excitement and completely in awe during their first look. Salon Ambiance is to thank for the beautiful bride’s elegant updo, which showed off the back of her gorgeous dress and kept her hair out of her face as she danced through the night. To complete the look, Shelby wore a lace-trimmed flowing veil.
The Tan Suit
The groom awaited his bride at the end of the aisle wearing a tan suit, robin’s egg tie and pocket square, and brown shoes. His groomsmen wore the same and looked quite handsome themselves. Shelby’s bridesmaids were dressed in short gowns colored in the same bright blue that showed up throughout the entire day, making the whole bridal party attire look perfectly paired.
The Tropical Lush Garden
During the ceremony, surrounded by a lush tropical garden and framed by a romantic gazebo, the lovely couple exchanged vows and shared their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs.! The touches of rustic decor throughout the day of celebration included distressed barn wood signs and picture frames, burlap and lace, and white metal bird cages.
The Reception
At the reception, the sweetheart table was set with a turquoise tablecloth, a white lace runner, and of course – Mason jars to contribute to the rustic theme. All of these touches truly brought in the same hometown vibes that Jared was hoping for in his special day. One way that Jared and Shelby made the decor uniquely their own was by incorporating their love for adventure throughout.
The Title Book
With a unique guest book titled “Our Adventure Book”, which they asked guests to create a bucket list for them, and a table seating chart with different world destinations for each table, it was evident that they were ready for their next big adventure as husband and wife.
The Multi-tiered Textured Cake
While they cozied up at the head table and heard toasts from their amazing friends and family, the couple enjoyed a delicious multi-tiered textured cake crafted by the wonderful Cinderella Cakes. They partied with their guests all night to tunes provided by Fly by Night Disc Jockeys.
