The beach, the sunset and some crashing waves – talk about romantic with a dash of dramatic. The Natural Bridges State Park in CA sure is a perfect place to have your engagement shots taken. Our couple wanted something fun, easy going and romantic for their shoot and their photographer’s venue suggestion achieved this requests! Congratulations to our fiery red-haired bride-to-be and her fiance!
And of course, Happy Thanksgiving to our beloved readers!
What did you want to portray in your engagement shoot?
I wanted to capture some amazing pictures with beautiful backdrops and lighting. I wanted to bring out our fun and easy going personalities
Why did you choose the location?
My fiance loves the beach and water. I wanted a romantic sun setting backdrop. Tony and Lisa (photographer) suggested Natural Bridges State Beach, CA and I was skeptial about my hair blowing in the windy beachy weather. As it turned out, it was 90 degress at the beach that day, and we were sweating (but you can’t tell!). I really wanted to capture some amazing sun setting pictures that could go on our wall for many years.
What inspired your outfits for the engagement session?
Knowing the shoot was going to be at a beach, I wanted a casual dress and to be barefoot. We started with his outfit, and chose color and pattern. I then chose something to compliment his colors and not clash in the pictures
Do the photos give a hint on what will happen on their wedding day? How so?
We we would love to get married on a beach somewhere local or possibly a destination beach wedding.
How did you feel at ease with all the posed shooting?
At first it was hard to relax, but after a few shots with Tony and Lisa, they made us feel comfortable and they were able to capture our best features. They knew how to pose us in order to get the best possible lighting.
Anything else you would like to add ?
Fred and I met two and a half years ago. I was coming out of a traumatic divorce and he was coming out of a long term relationship. I was persuaded by a close friend to give internet dating a try, where else could I meet someone new? Shortly after joining the site, I came across Fred and said hello. It was a match made in heaven. After a week of talking on the phone and texting, we decided to meet for coffee. We have been inseparable since. Shortly after two years of dating, he proposed with a beautiful yellow and white diamond ring. We are both looking forward to the best years of our life!
